Halle Bailey and DDG announce birth of their first child. “The greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” said Bailey on Instagram without disclosing her pregnancy.
Halle Bailey deserves congratulations. On January 6, the “Little Mermaid” actress said that she and her partner DDG had welcomed their first child, a son.
The brand-new mother revealed the information via a charming Instagram picture, which included her well-groomed hand clutching a baby hand with a gold bracelet and the word “Halo” engraved on it.
“Although the year is just beginning, the best thing 2023 could have given me was my son. Welcome to the world, my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is eager to meet you 😉🤣♥️,” the singer, 23, said in the image’s description.
The same photo was also posted on Instagram with a special message from Bailey’s boyfriend, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known by his professional handle, DDG.
“My biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love 🥹 baby halo,” he said in a note.
Celebrities and fans alike were overjoyed to learn of the Baileys’ pregnancy.
Greetings from Earth, Halo. Nicki Minaj commented on the singer’s Instagram photo, “We’ve been expecting you. 😇 congrats, mama! 🤍.”
Halle Berry said, “Halle, congratulations.” “Welcome to motherhood and welcome to the world baby Halo ❤️”
Niecy Nash joked that she was “Ready to babysit 💛💛💛💙” in the meanwhile.
After becoming romantically involved in January 2022, Bailey and DDG appeared on the red carpet together for the first time in June at the BET Awards. But according to Bailey, who spoke with Essence in August 2022, they had known each other since 2015 because they both got their start on YouTube and she grew up following him. The singer said that up until he messaged her, she had “completely forgotten about him,” and that was it.
After months of pregnancy speculations, their birth has been officially announced. Online fans started conjecturing that the “Angel” singer was expecting when she started dressing more large.
DDG seemed to confirm Bailey’s pregnancy on April 1 by sharing an ultrasound image of the child, but many of his followers didn’t think he was serious and dismissed his claim as a practical joke.
“Excited to be your father,” he said as the post’s caption.
One X user responded on the post, saying, “Man be fr it’s April Fools.”
Someone another commented, “DDG, I’m Getting Tired Of You Trolling.”
Another person said, “This is the worst and oldest April Fools joke ever.” “Surprised you never got the memo that this isn’t funny.”
After Bailey’s statement, fans have gone back to the tweet.
“Posting this on April Fools Day knowing u have no credibility so everybody would think ur joking is so sick and twisted,” a user said on Twitter.
“You guys decided to think it was a hoax, so I don’t know why everyone kept pressing,” someone said.
