D. Woods is breaking her silence and shedding light on what she describes as “troubling interactions” with rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, marking a significant moment in her journey to speak her truth.
In an exclusive sit-down interview with ABC News‘ Eva Pilgrim for Good Morning America, airing Monday, D. Woods expressed her readiness to be heard. “I feel like this moment is finally a time where my experience, my truth, will not only be heard but also genuinely considered and believed,” she said.
D. Woods, a former member of the girl group Danity Kane, which Combs launched during her tenure from 2005 to 2008, revealed the complexity of speaking out against someone so revered. For more updates check our Youtube channel.
“He’s seen as a hero in our community. And honestly, I looked up to him, too. It’s difficult for people to accept that someone they admire could also be capable of such behavior,” she added.
Combs is currently facing serious allegations. Arrested in September on sex trafficking charges, he remains in custody at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being denied bail. According to federal prosecutors, Combs allegedly “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, maintain his reputation, and cover up his actions” for over a decade, starting in 2008.
The charges include sex trafficking by force, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors allege that Combs orchestrated an enterprise involving sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, and other crimes. Combs has vehemently denied all accusations.
In response, Combs’ legal team criticized the documentary, calling the allegations unsubstantiated. “The producers failed to provide adequate details or time for Mr. Combs’ representatives to address these claims. Many allegations come from unidentified sources and lack proper context,” read their statement to GMA.
Combs’ attorneys maintain his innocence, stating, “He has full confidence in the judicial process, where the truth will emerge. These accusations are nothing more than pure fiction.”
