Cardi B has expressed outrage after a prank caller falsely reported her children to Child Protective Services (CPS), prompting an unexpected visit to her home. The 32-year-old rapper took to Instagram Live on Monday night to share her frustration, visibly upset as she spoke from a hospital bed where she has been recovering for several days due to illness.
In the emotional video, Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Cephus, addressed the seriousness of the prank, which resulted in CPS showing up at her gated mansion late at night. “So I wanna make this very f—ing clear and I can’t even breathe right now,” Cardi began. “Motherf—ers have taken s— too f—ing far when you mess with my f—ing kids.”
Cardi explained that CPS officers arrived at her home around 11 p.m., after receiving an anonymous tip alleging that her children were being abused. “For the Child Protective Services to come to my f—ing house? Not just any house—my gated mansion—at 11 p.m. while my children are sleeping because of an anonymous call saying my kids are being abused and beaten. Are you f—ing dumb?” she questioned angrily.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper revealed that she had been ill for days and had been hospitalized since Saturday, adding that this prank felt particularly malicious given her condition. “This is when the pranks start getting too far. You f—ing a—holes think that s— is funny and it’s not funny,” she stated, visibly distressed. The ordeal left her deeply shaken, as she reiterated: “We’re the only colored people in my neighborhood completely, and for motherf—ers to pop up at my house with cops and child protective services because of an anonymous call involving my children… I promise you, I’m going to sue CPS for f—ing coming to my house at whatever time it was.”
Cardi didn’t stop there. She vowed to take legal action against both the prank caller and CPS. “I’m going to sue the person who did this anonymous call. I’m going to get to the bottom of this,” she said, expressing her determination to find out who was responsible for the prank. Cardi mentioned that she plans to hire a top-tier private investigator to track down the individual. “You all take joking too far,” she added.
The rapper, who shares two children with her ex-husband Offset, made it clear that she takes her role as a mother very seriously. “Play with my motherhood or with my ex-husband’s fatherhood,” she said, referring to Offset, with whom she co-parents their 6-year-old daughter, Kulture, and their 3-year-old son, Wave. “We don’t play that s—. My kids live great. My kids have never been touched, never gotten hit, no matter how annoying they are.”
Cardi B went on to list the significant investments she makes in her children’s education and care, emphasizing the lengths she goes to ensure they are well taken care of. “They go to the best school,” she said, mentioning that her daughter Kulture’s school tuition is an eye-watering $45,000 per year. She also shared that the nanny for her newborn baby costs her $700 a day, highlighting how much she prioritizes their well-being. “I spend more money on my kids’ bills than I spend on clothes for myself,” she added.
In a stern warning, Cardi made it clear that anyone who threatens her children would face serious consequences. “If you’re a boy, my baby father is going to beat you the f— up. If you’re a woman, me and Hennessy [her sister] are going to beat you the f— up because you’re playing with my motherf—ing kids,” she said.
Cardi’s message was not just about defending her family, but also about drawing a line on what’s acceptable. She emphasized that pranks involving her children are unacceptable, reminding fans and critics alike that “Not everything is a f—ing joke. Not everything is a f—ing prank.” To ensure her family’s safety, she mentioned that her home has a heavy security presence. As Cardi B continues to recover from her illness, her fierce defense of her family underscores how deeply protective she is of her children.
