Cardi B Has Confirmed Her Divorce From Her Spouse
The rappers married quietly in 2017 and have two children: Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2.
Cardi B has confirmed her single status in the wake of allegations regarding her romance with Offset.
The rapper, 31, went open on Instagram Live over the weekend, admitting, “I’ve been single for a minute now,” according to a clip of the livestream uploaded on X (previously known as Twitter).
“But I’ve been afraid…” she continued. I’m not terrified; I simply don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today was a sign.”
Cardi B said that she wanted to start the new year “fresh” and “open,” adding, “I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning.” And, yes, I’m thrilled.”
The relationship status upgrade comes after the pair attended the same event on Sunday night — TikTok In the Mix music festival in Mesa, Arizona — but were not photographed together.
Representatives for the two rappers did not immediately reply to a media request for comment.
During the Live, she also said that her recent social media behavior has been full with “clues” concerning her relationship status. Fans noted last week that she and Offset — whom she married secretly in 2017 — had both unfollowed one other on Instagram.
“I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings,” she stated during the live broadcast.
On December 4, the “Bongos” rapper posted some enigmatic remarks on her Instagram Stories, including, “You know when you just out grow relationships.”
“I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST,” she continued.
Offset, 31, also posted to his Instagram Story after the unfollowing news last week. He shared a Scarface clip on his Story, with Al Pacino saying, “Hey, f— you, man! Who put this thing together? Me! Who can I put my faith in? Me!”
In September, the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, and Offset lavished his wife with several large bouquets of pink and red flowers.
“Thank you for the flowers, the empowerment, the protection, and for being a wonderful father to our children… “I love so many things about you,” the “WAP” singer said on Instagram with a video of the spectacular show.
“I love the fact that I’m with a grown ass man that’s going to provide, protect and help both of us GROW and can handle my mouth, my attitude, my confidence my weakness and all this ass!!”
Offset said of his wife in an Instagram post, “Since I met you, I’ve developed to become a better guy no matter what you have my back and I can trust you with my life lucky to have a loyal strong lady on my side…You are my safe haven in this wild world.”
