Cardi B shuts down rumors about her financial difficulties and potential real estate debt.
Cardi B, the Bronx rapper known for her hit songs and outspoken personality, has recently addressed and shut down rumors suggesting she is facing financial difficulties to the point of losing her home. The rumors stemmed from an article by British tabloid The Sun, which alleged that Cardi was millions behind on her mortgage.
In a since-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, August 4, Cardi B directly responded to these claims. She quoted a tweet where a user shared screenshots of the article and questioned her financial health.
Cardi B vehemently denied the rumors, stating, “First of all, The Sun is posting rumors that y’all are making up and sending blind items about… that’s why it’s NO DOCUMENTS, just word of mouth.”
She continued to clarify her financial status, emphasizing her responsibility with money. “Everybody gets a loan to buy a house and I never been behind on any of them.. I bought my house in 2021 and put almost 12 million in it now look how much I got left,” Cardi explained. She also highlighted her budgeting skills, mentioning a recent large expenditure on jewelry, “I just spent 400 thousand on jewelry this month because I also still know how to BUDGET… stop playin wit me.”
To further disprove the allegations, Cardi B included screenshots of text messages from someone who appeared to be her publicist or manager. These messages discussed the erroneous headline from The Sun. As of now, it appears the original article has been taken down.
This isn’t the first time Cardi B has had to address rumors about her financial situation. According to Page Six, on Monday, August 29, she responded to rumors that she and her husband, Offset, were trying to sell their Atlanta home amid a supposed “secret” financial crisis. Cardi once again took to social media to shut down these claims.
The persistent rumors about Cardi B’s financial health have led her to repeatedly defend her financial decisions and transparency. On Saturday, August 3, she responded to another inaccurate report. This time, it was about her personal life and her relationship with Offset. A Jasmine Brand Instagram post summarized a recent article from People, which quoted an “exclusive source” explaining the reasons behind her filing for divorce.
The article claimed, “As a mom, she expects a partner that contributes fully and that puts the family first. This just wasn’t happening. In general, he just doesn’t support her like a husband should. She needs good vibes and positive energy only in her life.”
Cardi B took issue with this portrayal and responded in the comments, “Ok this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids.” She questioned the legitimacy of the source, stating, “Never in my career no matter what I went through I had friends or family go to the media sooo I don’t know who is this damn source going to people magazine.”
She further clarified her stance on the divorce, adding, “Even wit my filling I’m not askin for child support my claim is for him to only pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”
“I just spent 400 thousand on jewelry this month because I also still know how to BUDGET… stop playin wit me,” Cardi B emphasized, highlighting her financial acumen.
Cardi B’s responses to these rumors underscore her determination to set the record straight about her financial and personal life. Her straightforward approach and willingness to address misinformation head-on show her commitment to maintaining her public image and transparency with her fans. As she continues to navigate her career and personal life under the scrutiny of the public eye, Cardi B remains vocal about the truth behind the headlines.
