“The biggest issues are safety, the southern border and, of course, the economy. People are struggling. People are having a hard time putting food on the table. They’re having a hard time putting gas in their cars. And those issues are issues that are very germane to the Black community,” Hunt said.
Hunt’s own story is a testament to the power of inclusivity. As a young Black man from Texas, he never thought he’d become a Republican. But after serving in the Army and seeing the impact of conservative policies on his community, he switched parties and became an advocate for GOP values.
Now, as a congressman and a rising star in the party, Hunt is determined to show that the GOP is a place where everyone is welcome. He’s working to recruit more diverse candidates, engage with minority voters, and promote policies that benefit all Americans.
