Michael Arceneaux, a New York Times best-selling book, investigates the scrutiny surrounding the former GMA anchors’ lives after the public disintegration of their marriages.

Harry Daniels and Amy Robach, former GMA anchors TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, have recently been accused of allegedly laying it low at work while married to other people, leading to shame and chaos at their job.

Despite this, the couple is determined to remind us they are a couple and love-love-LOVE each other.

This has led to their new iHeartRadio podcast, Amy & T.J. Podcast, where they get behind the microphone to explore meaningful conversations about current events, pop culture, and everything in between.

In the first episode, Robach claimed they had gone through “a year of hell”, and Holmes said they were “the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other.”

While this may not be how HR over at the media would frame it, it is essential to remember that anyone losing their job in this economy is unforgivable to allegedly upset Robin Roberts with some mess.

While the couple has every right to use their show to formally debut as a couple and speak on their relationship on their terms, it is essential to consider the backlash their love has sparked.

Robach explained that all of us are always rooting for love, and it doesn’t always happen when you want it to happen. However, there are better ways to handle the backlash in their situation.

In episode two of the podcast, the couple gushed about attending iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball 2023 in Los Angeles and being proud of the small things that feel so great. They also mentioned being handsy and a lot of PDA on the red carpet, but they are in love and happy.

The scandal attached to their union may seem impossible for the couple, but it is ultimately one of their own making. Being all handsy on the red carpet and bragging about the PDA on a podcast monetising the infidelity at the root of their relationship formation sounds like a misstep for people whose careers are typically tied to how the public views them.

The couple has claimed they were both undergoing divorce when they started dating and have claimed to be apologetic to their families. However, this is not what news anchors are supposed to be doing.

They have gone from trusted news anchors to the couple that causes strangers to go viral for singing, “I might kill my ex, not the best idea/His new girlfriend’s next, how’d I get here?”

It is far from me to play the role of an unsolicited career counsellor, but I would take that as a cue from the public and switch my approach accordingly. Love wins, though.
