Jonathan Majors Is About To Make His First Public Appearance After Guilt Verdict. For the first time, the former Marvel star will speak publicly on Disney’s “Good Morning America.”
Jonathan Majors will speak publicly for the first time since being convicted guilty of beating his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, last month.
On Monday, the former Marvel actor, 34, will do his first interview with a media outlet News anchor Linsey Davis on Disney-owned Good Morning America, with additional pieces airing on GMA3.
Later that day, an expanded version would air on the Live program Prime. On Thursday, IMPACT x Nightline will also carry a half-hour special incorporating previously unaired excerpts from his interview. The show will be accessible exclusively on Hulu.
This comes after Marvel Entertainment (a branch of the Disney corporation) stated in December that it would be cutting ties with Majors after his high-profile trial.
He previously appeared as Kang the Conqueror in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and in the current season of the Disney+ series Loki.
The Creed III actor was also expected to appear in many more forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including a fifth Avengers film.
Majors was found guilty on a split judgment of two charges: misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly inflicting bodily harm, and harassment in the second degree, which is a violation. He was found not guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree with intent to inflict bodily harm and misdemeanor aggravated harassment in the second degree.
The allegations stemmed from an alleged argument between him and his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, that spilled into the streets of Manhattan’s Chinatown area in March.
Priya Chaudhry, one of Majors’ defense attorneys, delivered a statement on her client’s behalf after the decision on December 18.
“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her,” according to the statement.
“We appreciate it.” “We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him,” she wrote in the statement.
“Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these harrowing eight months,” the statement said. “Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
Majors will be sentenced in court on February 6, where he might face up to a year in prison.
