LSU basketball champion Angel Reese just landed another major deal and this time its with major beauty brand Mielle Organics.
In a news release shared with ESSENCE, it was comfirmed that this would Reese’s first major beauty deal and would include Reese’s image to be used for the brand’s marketing, social media, events and a limited-edition product bundle.
Dubbed, the “Bayou Barbie,” Reese is known for her skills on the court and her glam off the the court.
The basketball star often sports long flowing locks and laid edges. She was recently featured in the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Mielle says Reese was handpicked for her ability to bridge the gap between sports and beauty. Plus, the baller has long been a fan of the brand.
“This is the perfect partnership. I can’t wait to share more with my fans and introduce my new Mielle bundle. The last several months have been a whirlwind. I feel really blessed,”
Reese said.
She publicly mentioned her love for the Black-founded brand created by Monique Rodriguez in interviews hoping to gain their attention, resulting in the partnership she hoped for. The brand will issue an original bundle of products the young star loves.
“I am thrilled to be partnering with Mielle. I have been using their products for years, and I love the way they make my hair look and feel both on and off the court,” said Reese in an exclusive statement
The multi-cultural hair brand is a favorite of stylish celebrities seeking laid edges and hydrated curls.
Their first global ambassador, Megan Thee Stallion, worked with the brand to show off its impact on her natural hair. Saweetie declared her love for the brand and became an ambassador for its projects in 2021.
According to a report, Reese’s many endorsement deals include partnerships with Bose, McDonalds, JanSports, and Outback Steakhouse amongst others. The deals she’s inked rake in over $300,000 per year.
The prices she demands make sense considering Reese has made a name for herself these past few years. The formidable basketball player has garnered considerable attention as public interest in women’s sports continues to grow.
Back in April, Reese led the LSU Lady Tigers to victory against the University of Iowa’s Hawkeyes at the 2023 NCAA women’s basketball tournament. Reese is said to have landed more NIL deals than any other player in the NCAA tournament.
