Frank Ocean has pulled out from Coachella Weekend 2. He was scheduled to headline on Sunday, April 23. Ocean, who is suffering from a leg injury, was told by doctors to cancel the gig.
A representative for the singer told The Times “Frank Ocean will not be performing at weekend 2 of Coachella.”
The statement said, “After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1, Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity.”
“On doctor’s advice, Frank Ocean is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”
The statement also quoted Ocean as saying, “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”
The enigmatic R&B Star who shuns the spotlight and hasn’t performed live for six years made a much-awaited return at Coachella on Sunday night, headlining the event with Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK.
His return, however, left the fans a little divided. There were some highs but quite a few lows as well.
Fans were expecting Ocean to drop some new music, but instead, he performed some of his old biggest hits, “Bad Religion,” “White Ferrari,” and “Novacane.” The singer-songwriter was scheduled to highlight the event in 2020 before it was called off due to Covid.
