In a major development ahead of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ upcoming federal trial, singer and model Cassie Ventura has confirmed she will testify using her real name. The case has attracted national attention due to the serious nature of the charges, which include sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering.

According to documents filed on April 4 Ventura is referred to as “Victim-1” in the legal motion, but she has chosen not to remain anonymous during the proceedings. “Victim-1 is prepared to testify under her own name,” the filing states, making her the only known accuser willing to publicly identify herself in court.

Three other women, referred to as Victim-2 Victim-3 and Victim-4 have requested anonymity. Prosecutors are asking the court to allow them to use pseudonyms during the trial and to prevent the defense from revealing any information that might expose their identities.

“This case has already received intense media scrutiny, which is expected to grow as the trial moves forward,” prosecutors wrote. “Protecting these victims’ identities is essential to avoid harassment public shaming, and other harmful consequences.”

The legal pressure on Combs increased recently as a superseding indictment added two more charges to his case one count of sex trafficking and another of transportation for prostitution. These come in addition to the original charges which include one count each of sex trafficking, prostitution-related transportation and racketeering.

Combs’ legal team responded by claiming that the accusations stem from former partners in consensual relationships. “These are not new allegations, and they involve adults engaged in private, consensual activity,” his lawyers stated.

However, the new indictment paints a darker picture, accusing Combs of coercing one victim into commercial sex acts through manipulation and abuse.
