Tory Lanez is making waves once again, this time from behind bars. The rapper, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, has just released his latest album, PETERSON. Dropping on March 7, the project is packed with bold claims and fiery accusations, as Lanez calls out some of the key figures he believes contributed to his legal troubles including Megan Thee Stallion, her management company Roc Nation, and his former lawyer Shawn Holley.

Despite his incarceration, Lanez is making sure his voice is heard. Through his music, he continues to push back against the court’s verdict, portraying himself as a victim of a larger industry plot. One of the most controversial tracks on the album, “Verdict Day,” directly addresses his frustrations with his legal team and the powerful forces he claims worked against him.

Lanez doesn’t shy away from taking direct shots at Roc Nation, the management powerhouse that represents Megan. He suggests that they played a behind-the-scenes role in ensuring his conviction. Even more shockingly, he accuses his former attorney, Shawn Holley, of working against him. Holley, who left before his trial began, is referenced in the song with explosive lyrics:

“Trial lawyer left me like she Kevin Liles / She was in bed with my opposition like wedding vows / Started seeing fckery from bail amounts / The ones who pay her are tryna sue me over Zelle accounts.”

Through PETERSON, Lanez is doubling down on his innocence and pushing back against those he believes set him up. Whether this album shifts public perception or just adds more controversy remains to be seen but Tory Lanez is refusing to stay silent.
