LSU’s angel Reese mocks Caitlin Clark in final seconds of national title game

LSU enjoyed a record-setting victory over Iowa in the national championship of the 2023 NCAA women’s basketball tournament, dropping 102 points to win its first-ever national title.

Tigers star forward Angel Reese held nothing back during the waning moments of the game, giving Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark the same  “Can’t See Me” move Clark flashed during Iowa’s semifinals win over South Carolina.

Reese could also be seen pointing to her ring finger in anticipation of the final whistle and LSU earning its first ever “ring” in program history.

“Caitlin Clark is a hell of a player for sure, but I don’t take disrespect lightly. And she disrespected Alexis and South Carolina, they’re still my SEC girls, too. You all are not going to disrespect them either.”

Reese said.

Clark finished the final with a game-high 30 points to go with eight assists. Reese, meanwhile, put up 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, enough to give her the authority of celebrating how she did.

While Clark walked toward the sideline, Reese held her hand up right in her opponent’s direction, flaunting her soon-to-be championship ring-wearing finger.

“It was cute when Caitlin Clark did it. Y’all didn’t have any issues with it at all,” Thomas said. “So don’t be all outraged and talking about class and sportsmanship when Angel Reese does the same thing.”

Retired NBA player Etan Thomas was quick to call out those angry at Reese for celebrating in that manner, saying they didn’t show the same energy when Clark did the same.

Reese made her own bit of college basketball history, setting a record with 34 double-doubles on the season, the most ever in a single season by an individual in women’s NCAA Division I history. She finished the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
