Serena Williams Shuts Down 'Petty' Claims Over Drake Drama

Serena Williams stunned audiences when she made a surprise appearance during the Super Bowl Halftime Show. As Kendrick Lamar delivered a high energy performance Williams joined in  executing a Crip walk that immediately set social media abuzz.

Fans and spectators were quick to speculate about her presence, with many linking it to her past relationship with rapper Drake. Given their history, some assumed Williams was subtly throwing shade at her ex by dancing to a song that directly dissed him on one of the biggest stages in the world.

However, the tennis legend wasted no time in shutting down these rumors. Taking to Twitter on Monday, Williams dismissed the notion that her appearance was meant to be a jab at Drake. Addressing her followers, she clarified her true intentions. For more updates check our Youtube channel.

“Gosh, I’m so late to the game (I’ve been sick) & busy investing in billion-dollar companies and running @WYNbeauty,” she tweeted. “Def not dancing to be petty lol.”

Williams didn’t stop there. She reinforced her stance by reminding everyone of her accomplishments, highlighting her focus on business and personal growth rather than unnecessary drama. “I think I proved 23 times over (not counting 4 gold medals) that I simply don’t have time for petty,” she added. “All love and respect always, nothing negative here.”

Backing her up, her husband, Alexis Ohanian, chimed in on social media, addressing those criticizing her dance moves. The Reddit cofounder pointed out that Serena had faced similar backlash when she performed the Crip walk at Wimbledon over a decade ago.

“Some of y’all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago,” he wrote. “And it shows… This is bigger than the music.”

Drake, for his part, seemed to respond indirectly. During a concert in Australia, he gave an emotional speech about wasted time and energy in relationships before launching into his song “You Broke My Heart.” Many fans took this as a subtle dig at Serena and other past relationships. While Williams maintains her innocence, the drama surrounding her Halftime Show appearance continues to generate buzz.
