During his concert in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday, February 9, Drake made headlines for his unexpected generosity, gifting tens of thousands of dollars to fans in the crowd. The 38 year old rapper, known for his hit “God’s Plan,” was particularly moved when he spotted a sign that read “Adonis for President,” a nod to his 7-year-old son.

“You’re showing a lot of love to my son,” Drake said in a TikTok video shared by a fan. “On behalf of me and Adonis, we’re going to give you 25 grand for your family.”

Drake wasn’t done spreading the wealth. He then turned his attention to another fan holding a sign that said, “Kiss Me, It’s My Birthday.” He announced he would gift her $20,000, pay for a birthday dinner for her and her friends, and even invite her back to the concert. The crowd erupted in cheers as Drake’s kind-hearted actions unfolded on stage.

Later in the show, Drake expressed his deep appreciation for his Australian fans. “It really touches my heart that through all of that, you still take your hard-earned money, and you spend some of that money on tickets to this show to see this kid from Canada get up here and talk s ” he said. “I really appreciate you. I would be nothing without you.” For more updates check our Youtube channel.

The generous acts took place on the same night as Kendrick Lamar’s high-profile Super Bowl Halftime performance, where Lamar took a subtle dig at Drake during his set. The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper performed his diss track “Not Like Us,” which features a controversial line aimed at Drake. While Lamar initially planned to reference a lawsuit filed by Drake against both Lamar and their record label, Universal Music Group, he ultimately altered the lyrics during the performance. The lawsuit stems from Drake accusing Lamar of defamation related to lyrics alleging Drake was a “pedophile,” which Drake’s legal team strongly denied.
