Wendy Williams’ Guardian Seeks New Medical Evaluation After She Denounces ‘Disgusting’ Dementia Diagnosis

Wendy Williams is standing firm against claims that she has frontotemporal dementia, calling the diagnosis “disgusting” and “fake.” The former talk show host made her stance clear during a surprise call-in to The Breakfast Club on Wednesday, where she dismissed reports about her health condition.

“That’s a very rare thing for anybody to have,” Williams stated, expressing her disbelief over the diagnosis. “I’m not incapacitated. I am not a baby.”

Her strong public denial quickly prompted a legal response from her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey. Just hours later, Morrissey filed a request for a new medical evaluation, citing Williams’ own statements as grounds for further testing.

Morrissey’s legal filing referenced Williams’ remarks during The Breakfast Club interview, noting that the television personality spoke at length about the A&E lawsuit and implied she might not want to proceed with it. Morrissey indicated she would have “no interest” in continuing the lawsuit if an upcoming medical examination determined Williams has the mental capacity to direct legal action herself.

“The issue of whether Williams has the capacity to assess what is in her own best interests deserves renewed careful consideration by qualified experts, and should not be left to careless speculation in tabloids, radio, or on the Internet,” the filing stated.

Williams’ legal struggles have been ongoing, particularly regarding her financial and personal autonomy. In January, she reportedly fired her court-appointed attorney, Linda Redlisky, as she sought to end her guardianship.

During a previous interview on The Breakfast Club, Williams shared alarming details about her living conditions, claiming she felt “trapped” in an assisted-living facility in New York.

“I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison,” she stated. “I am definitely isolated. To talk to these people who live here, that is not my cup of tea.”

Adding to the controversy, Williams also alleged that her legal guardianship has left her financially restricted, claiming she currently has just $15 to her name.
