Keefe D, a central figure in one of hip-hop’s most notorious murder cases, is facing even more trouble behind bars as he awaits trial for the killing of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. Arrested in 2023 and set to stand trial in March 2025, Keefe D born Duane Davis has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. However, his time in custody has been far from uneventful.
Recent reports indicate that Keefe D was involved in a violent altercation with another inmate at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. According to a news channal, the two engaged in an intense physical fight, involving “mutual combat” where they grappled, exchanged closed fist punches, and Keefe D allegedly placed his opponent in a headlock. The confrontation escalated to such a degree that correctional officers had to intervene, ultimately using pepper spray to break up the scuffle.
Following the incident, Keefe D now faces an additional charge of battery, as his fellow inmate has filed a complaint against him. Despite this, Keefe D maintains that he was not the instigator and insists that he was merely “standing his ground.” The details of what led to the altercation remain unclear, but the incident further complicates his already precarious legal situation.
Keefe D’s involvement in Tupac Shakur’s murder has long been a topic of discussion, especially given his own statements over the years. In his 2019 memoir Compton Street Legend, he expressed no sympathy for Tupac, implying that the rapper had made fatal mistakes. For more updates check our Youtube channel.
“Tupac chose the wrong game to play and the wrong n**gas to play with,” he wrote, criticizing Tupac’s security for failing to protect him.
Originally scheduled for November 2024, Keefe D’s trial was delayed and is now set to begin on March 17, 2025. With his latest prison brawl adding more controversy, all eyes will be on how his legal battle unfolds in the coming months.
