Former Bad Boy artist Chopper recently spoke about a heated moment involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and Freddy P during MTV’s Making the Band. On The Art of Dialogue podcast, Chopper revealed that Diddy allegedly threatened Freddy P after an offhand remark. According to Chopper, Diddy’s reaction was intense and led to a tense standoff.
Chopper explained that Freddy made a “slick” comment while they were at Diddy’s home. This prompted Diddy to order the MTV crew to stop filming and leave the room.
“He told Fred, ‘I’d buy your whole block, move everyone out, and have someone shooting at you every time you step outside,’” Chopper claimed.
Chopper further described Freddy’s reaction, saying, “Fred was looking for objects. He wanted to find a knife or something. Fred wanted to poke that boy.” The incident reportedly left a lasting impression on Freddy, who eventually left Da Band.
“He meant well, but he was disappointed in the music industry,” Chopper noted. The rapper emphasized that Freddy P’s departure was fueled by frustration and disillusionment with how the industry operated.
Chopper also touched on the strained dynamic between Diddy and Freddy, who were once bandmates. He expressed concern that the altercation permanently altered their views of the industry and each other.
“Fred is super talented,” Chopper remarked. “But that moment changed everything.”
This revelation has reignited conversations about the pressures and controversies within the music business. As discussions about Diddy’s past continue, Chopper’s statements highlight the personal and professional struggles faced by artists under his leadership.
