Kalenna Harper Stands by Former Boss Diddy, Describes Cassie as “Naive” and Party-Driven

In a recent interview with Break Beat Media, Kalenna Harper, a former member of the Diddy-led musical trio Dirty Money, shared her views on both her past boss, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Harper, who worked closely with both figures during her time in the industry, openly expressed her support for Combs while casting some critical remarks about Cassie’s behavior during their time together. Although she voiced fondness for Cassie, Harper didn’t shy away from describing her as a “party girl” with a penchant for nightlife and risky habits.

Harper noted that she watched Cassie evolve over the years, claiming she saw her take a carefree approach to life, often indulging in heavy partying. “Love her to death. Naive. Like getting high. She likes partying,” Harper remarked in the interview. Reflecting on her memories of Cassie, she continued,

“I saw Cassie grow up from a little girl who was willing to, like, give everybody mother f***ing, you know, lap dances, basically. You know, get drunk and just have a good, like, model time.”

Her comments painted Cassie as someone who embraced the fast-paced, glamorous world of entertainment while remaining somewhat naïve to its darker sides.Cassie recently filed a lawsuit against Combs, claiming years of physical and sexual abuse during their relationship, which sent shockwaves through the industry. Combs swiftly settled the lawsuit, reportedly within 24 hours. Cassie’s willingness to come forward inspired several others to speak up, bringing more allegations to light against the Bad Boy Records founder. One notable claim came from Dawn Richard, Harper’s former bandmate in Dirty Money, who has also taken legal action against Combs.

However, Harper expressed strong skepticism toward Richard’s allegations, particularly because she never witnessed the behavior Richard described. “I don’t f**k with Dawn like that. And I’m going to f***ing stand no business,” Harper said bluntly. “I didn’t see that. What I saw was…what’s going on with you because you act all weird. You’re a weird b***h.” Harper’s criticism of Richard seemed to stem from their strained relationship, as well as disbelief in Richard’s claims of abuse.

Dawn Richard’s lawsuit, filed in September, alleged that Combs engaged in abusive and controlling behavior, including locking her in a car, berating her, and making unwanted sexual advances. Upon the filing, Harper promptly issued a statement disputing Richard’s version of events, noting that she did not witness any of the incidents described in the lawsuit during their time working together. She claimed her own experiences did not align with those presented in Richard’s account.

A month before her recent interview, Harper took to her Instagram Stories to address Richard’s claims, which mentioned Harper multiple times. In her detailed response, she clarified, “I acknowledge the recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard in which my name has been mentioned 33 times. While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved.” Harper’s statement stressed that her experiences in professional settings with Diddy and Richard differed significantly from those described in the lawsuit.

Harper continued, explaining that while she and her husband, Tony Vick, were present in many of the same settings as Richard and Combs, they maintained professionalism and were unaware of any behavior that could be considered abusive. “Tony and I have always conducted ourselves with the highest level of professionalism and integrity,” she stated. “We were not involved in, nor were we aware of, any behavior that could be considered abusive or unlawful.” Her statement highlighted her and her husband’s ethical approach to their roles in the industry and implied that they would have distanced themselves from any wrongdoing if they had witnessed it.

As the legal process unfolds, Harper has chosen not to delve into further details. In her statement, she expressed faith in the legal system, writing,“As this matter is now part of an ongoing legal process, I will refrain from discussing any specific details further, trusting that the legal system will handle it with fairness and thoroughness, and supporting any process that seeks to uncover the truth.”

Harper’s recent comments have stirred debate within the music industry and beyond. While her support for Diddy and skepticism toward Richard may reflect her own perspective, they add another dimension to the ongoing discussions about abuse, power dynamics, and accountability in the entertainment world. Harper’s stance has been met with both agreement and criticism from the public, highlighting the polarizing nature of the allegations and the complexities of navigating friendships, loyalties, and professional dynamics in a high-stakes environment.

Cassie’s and Richard’s accusations against Diddy have prompted a wave of scrutiny, with several other individuals reportedly coming forward to share similar claims. As the cases unfold, the industry continues to grapple with how to address issues of abuse and ensure justice for survivors, especially in an era where victims are more empowered to speak out. Harper’s interview sheds light on the mixed emotions and alliances that can arise in such cases, underscoring how complex and multifaceted these situations can be.
