Daughter of Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, Zaya Wade, has made her catwalk debut at the Paris Fashion Week.
Weeks after she changed her name and gender,the 15-year-old transgender wore an olive-green ensemble comprising of a knit top, knee-length skirt, and a blazer on the MiuMiu catwalk on Tuesday.Zaya came out as transgender at age 12.
Her father, Dwayne Wade, 41, and mother Gabrielle Union, 50, were in attendance at the event in the front row. Wade shared a video of Zaya walking down the ramp with the caption, “She’s arrived.”
The proud parents have been supportive of their daughter’s transition. The NBA legend tweeted a picture of himself and his wife at the fashion week with the caption: “Just an icon living.”
Two weeks ago, a Long Angeles court granted Zaya a name-change and assignment of gender. Her new legal is Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade. Her petition to legally change name was challenged by her birth mother SiohvaughnFunches-Wade, claiming that Zaya was being financially pressurized to do this. The objection was turned down by the Court.
