Sean Kingston Released From Jail on $100,000 Bond

Sean Kingston Released From Jail

Sean Kingston Released From Jail. Sean Kingston, Jamaican singer of “Beautiful Girls,” left Broward County jail on Tuesday night after posting a $100,000 bond. Kingston—real name Kesean Anderson—is charged with grand theft, fraud, and probation violation. He is accused of stealing money, jewels, a Cadillac Escalade, and furnishings.

The 34-year-old artist escaped jail with a white cloth partially covering his face and promptly got into a car. Kingston simply answered question regarding his leaving automobile by responding, “It is mine, check the license plate.”

Kingston’s attorney, Bob Rosenblatt, claimed, “He signed a waiver but it was under coercion.”

Kingston was extradited to Florida and placed into Broward County jail late Sunday. He was detained while performing at Fort Irwin, an Army training base in California’s Mojave Desert. Kingston waived his extradition defense and was extradited to Florida.

Kingston listened closely as the judge read his 10 criminal counts at his bond hearing on Monday. Grand theft, fraud, identity theft, and probation violation for trafficking stolen property are examples. His lawyers argued that he should be released since a Florida judge had imposed a bond for probation violation.

Bob Rosenblatt, Kingston and his mother’s attorney, said, “He signed a waiver but it was under coercion.” Rosenblatt said his client did nothing wrong, “I don’t know who owes money. We know about the watches and TV issue. I’m unsure about other difficulties. Breach of contract. There’s no fraud. There’s no organized scam.”

Rosenblatt plans to plead not guilty and request a jury trial. When asked about getting the charges dropped, he said, “Very confident.”

Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, 61, are charged with major crimes. They’re accused of organized fraud, grand theft, identity theft, and other crimes. Turner was arrested the same day Kingston was during a Southwest Ranches mansion raid.

Kingston and Turner allegedly stole approximately $500,000 in jewels, over $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from the Escalade dealer, over $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 from a bed maker between October and March. Theft details were not revealed.

Kingston was on two-year probation for trafficking stolen property when arrested. Turner has eight fraud and theft charges, while Kingston has eight and a probation violation. Turner previously pled guilty to bank fraud in 2006 for stealing over $160,000 and served over 1.5 years in jail.

Kingston remains popular despite legal issues. He performed in a sold-out Florida State University performance. Laura, a fan, said, “He was on Disney while I was growing up. I’ve always liked him.”

Kingston achieved number one with “Beautiful Girls” and collaborated with Justin Bieber on “Eenie Meenie.” His recent legal difficulties eclipsed his musical successes.

Kingston’s legal options will be widely monitored. His defense team hopes to get a not-guilty verdict and case dismissal. The singer’s personal and professional future will depend on the result.

Sean Kingston’s court battle continues to captivate fans and journalists. It is unclear how the case will influence his career and public image.
