Memphis Authorities Address Speculation Linking The Fatal Shooting Of Yo Gotti’s Brother “Big Jook” To The Death Of Little Dolph. The elder brother of Memphis rapper Yo Gotti was allegedly shot and murdered outside a neighborhood eatery only hours after attending a funeral.

According to the Memphis Police Department, Anthony “Big Jook” Mims was fatally shot at Perignons Restaurant and Event Center on Winchester Road.

One guy was wounded and died after being brought to St. Francis Hospital after the incident, which happened at about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 13.

Another individual was injured and arrived at the same hospital in a private car. He is presently in serious condition. Authorities think Mims and the second victim were the intended targets. Police have security video of the incident, but no suspects have been identified.

According to a local station, perhaps a “couple hundred” individuals were inside the building when the incident occurred outside.

MPD Deputy Chief Paul Wright Jr., who has over 34 years of experience with the Memphis Police Department, conducted a short news conference hours after the incident.

“Right now, we do have video that we are analyzing, but we don’t have a clear suspect identified at this time,” he said. “But we know that a weapon was used, a firearm was used in this incident.”

Mims and the other person were shot hours after attending a “repast” for a loved one named Eric Eugene Bovan, according to Wright and many Instagram postings from Mim. He posted “RIP Unk Las Vegas Eric Legendary Kingpin” above a photo of a guy, followed by two more postings.

Authorities got a report regarding a gunshot, and cops who were hailed down discovered Mims had been shot in his car.

Law enforcement was also asking whether Mims’ killing was linked to the 2021 death of late Memphis rapper Young Dolph, Gotti’s longtime music rival. Dolph was gunned down outside a small cookie business, about 14 minutes away from where Mims was slain.

According to online users, Mims is an acquaintance of Hernandez Govan, the guy suspected of masterminding Dolph’s killing and coordinating the shooter’s escape plan.

Wright said, “This is preliminary, so we haven’t established a relationship to it. We believe the guy who was shot was potentially targeted by the suspect.

The chief said that they know of at least one shooter but that there might be more, given that multiple videos and images from the site have circulated online. Locals in the parking lot following the shooting characterize the event as a “shootout,” although no proof to back up this allegation has been revealed.

Mims was active with his brother Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group company. His connection to the firm is unknown, although he worked closely with the label’s artists, including Moneybagg Yo, Lehla Samia, Mozzy, Blac Youngsta, EST Gee, and others.

Gotti, whose real name is Mario Mims, has yet to comment on his elder brother’s death. However, numerous CMG signees, like GloRilla, Big Boogie, and 10Percent, have posted, “Get your rest,” or shared sad heart emoticons and images with Mims.

Mims is survived by his brother, mother Geraldine Mims, and sister, Robin Chanel.
