That pain is completely gone. It’s the other areas that have been compensated for,” Woods explained, drawing parallels to his previous lower back fusion surgery.

He emphasized the complexity of addressing one issue, only to find other areas becoming more mobile and potentially leading to additional challenges.

Early on this month, Woods shared that he is no longer have any pain in his right ankle. He underwent ankle surgery earlier this year. Fans are eagerly waiting for the fifteen-time major champion’s recovery since then.

However, Woods cautioned that while his ankle is fine, other areas in his leg remain a “work in progress.”

The golf icon suffered serious injuries in a single-car crash in February 2021, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department revealing that Woods was driving at a speed exceeding 87 mph, well above the posted limit. Despite the severity of the crash, Woods remarkably returned to play at the PNC Championship alongside his son, Charlie, just 10 months later.

Recently, he also caddied for Charlie at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship, sparking speculations about his imminent return to professional golf.

For Woods, the Hero World Challenge is particularly meaningful because this will be his first time taking part since 2019. The golf legend hopes to add another chapter to his long career with a solid showing in this forthcoming competition. He last experienced triumph at the Zozo Championship in Japan in 2019.
