The tension between 50 Cent and Joe Budden has escalated to potential legal action, but if you ask 50, he’s far from worried. In a recent Instagram post, 50 Cent reacted to Budden’s suggestion that he might pursue legal action over AI-generated images that 50 had been posting. The rap mogul shared a clip of Budden discussing the matter on his podcast and responded with his signature humor.
“So that’s the plan? You gonna sue me, Joe?” 50 Cent wrote. “Hahaha, I think you’re mistaking me for someone else. I’m gonna get face-to-face with you, so you can tell me about the therapy I need.”
The back and forth started after Budden took issue with 50 Cent repeatedly mocking him on social media. On a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, he acknowledged that 50 had been posting about him nonstop.
“50’s been posting me for seven days in a row,” Budden said. “If I have a problem with it, we’re getting lawyers involved.” He claimed that sharing AI generated images without proper disclosure could be considered illegal.
“You can’t do that,” Budden stated. “But I don’t have a problem with it. I think that’s corny. And that’s 50 I got all the respect in the world for him. But if I get tired of it, and it stops paying, then yeah, it’s lawyer time.”
Their dispute originally started when Budden suggested that 50 Cent should consider therapy for his chaotic online behavior. The comment came after 50 made a controversial post about Irv Gotti’s passing where he shared an AI edited image of himself smoking hookah with a tombstone that read “RIP.”
Not one to let a comment slide, 50 Cent clapped back by sharing a series of AI generated images depicting Budden sleepwalking naked. The images referenced a real-life incident where Budden was caught on video sleepwalking in the nude and mistakenly trying to enter his neighbor’s apartment an incident that eventually led to a court case, which he later won.
Despite the legal threat, 50 Cent seems to be enjoying the drama, showing no signs of backing down.
