Police authorities say three people were arrested and charged in last week’s attack on rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine which happened at a South Florida gym. “Three suspects “have been located, arrested and are currently being booked/processed into the Palm Beach County Jail,” a statement by the police said.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office Rafael Medina Jr. 43, Octavious Medina, 23, and Anthony Maldonado, 25 were arrested and booked for assault and robbery.
According to the Palm Beach Post, one of the suspects Rafael Medina is a high-ranking member of the Latin Kings gang, per the police record. County Judge Ted Booras set bailsfor Rafael Medina at $52,000 and $22,000 for Octavious Medina.
Daniel Hernandez (rap name Tekashi 6in9ine), 26, was in a South Florida sauna south of West Palm Beach on March 21, when he was assaulted by a group of men.
Tekashi pleaded guilty in 2019 to multiple counts of racketeering, illegal firearms possession, and drug trafficking, but was given a reduced sentence after his testimony reportedly helped prosecutors put two notorious gang leaders behind bars— an act which earned him the unwanted label of a “snitch.”
One of the suspects recorded the incident. The video shows Tekashi with a bruised face.
